Rostering Officer

As a Rostering officer, you will be responsible for coordinating, planning, maintaining and scheduling casual, part-time and full-time staff shifts along with potential interactions with clients (split shifts may be required)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule daily staffing allocations to ensure all shifts are filled.
  • Assist with the scheduling, coordination, and rostering of mandatory staff training.
  • Contribute to the preparation and implementation of rostering procedures.
  • Provide high level administrative support on a variety of other staffing and rostering related tasks as required .
  • Maintain and update the casual employee roster .
  • Oversee the master roster and process shift variations, permanent shift changes and generate/publish new rosters fortnightly.
  • Accurately and efficiently manage the administration and maintenance of Company records databases .
  • Undertake other duties that may be allocated from time to time that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.
  • Identify any overtime, broken shifts, or casual hours in Brevity and seek approval from the relevant manager before rostering these shifts.
  • Ensure shifts are rostered in line with applicable award guidelines, following set instructions.
  • Communicate any recurring issues or patterns—such as unfilled shifts or staff availability concerns—to your manager in a timely manner.
    Liaise with managers regarding staffing gaps or ongoing needs to support forward planning and workforce coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a similar role is required, particularly knowledge of best practice rostering procedures in a similar industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, quality management or related discipline (Preferred).
  • High-level administration experience
  • Knowledge and skill with portals and programs such as, Rostering Systems and Microsoft Office 365
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with staff and managers to coordinate shifts.
  • Well-developed capacity to manage the competing demands of a busy environment, work to deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
